Toronto is a city where something wacky is lurking around every corner. The city is full of hidden gems, and there is never a shortage of unique (and sometimes strange) places to eat, chill and play around.

This popular board game café is Toronto’s first of its kind. From outside the café, you could just as easily walk past it. A quirky but otherwise neutral banner doesn’t let on to the mind games, drawing against the clock and all-out (yet all in good fun) war games taking place behind the doors. Once inside, it’s like no other café in Toronto and will leave you bringing your friends, kids or the girl you want to kiss back for a rematch.

Wall-to-wall board games coupled with a clean, rustic design gives this hot spot a comforting feel. A knowledgeable staff that can teach you to play any game and the Youtube videos on the channel introduce you to new games that get’s you out of your normal games you grew up with since that’s what everyone else played.

Unfortunately Snakes and Lattes does not take phone reservations. You’re required to leave your name with the host, and you’ll receive a phone call when your table is ready. This can be troublesome for the anxious diners that can’t get there before 8:00 p.m., especially with the café’s rising popularity. It would be best to leave your name on a day that you’re already planning to be downtown so you’re not left waiting outside, since wait times can reach up to two hours during the dinner rush. The café offers an average selection of food, but nothing on the menu is over $10.00. You will never wear out your welcome with access to unlimited games for just $5.00. The $5.00 charge is a game fee that does not cover food but allows guests to play as many games as it takes to avenge their losses or collect their winnings. With a wide selection of board games to choose from and they boast they have around 3,000 different games. it’s always more fun to go with a large group. Cafés in the city that are similar to Snakes and Lattes include Castle, Roll Play Café, Go Lounge and Snakes and Lagers Board Game Bar (owned by Snakes and Lattes). Get your game on at 600 Bloor St or check out the one on College.

We have been to both 😉

You can check out one of our visits in my OSE video starting at the 2:50 mark here.

It’s nice to get back in the swing of things with making these all on my cracked screen iPod.  It’s fun to play with the edits on iMovie inside the iPod and use video and sound from other clips to overlay.  In the video…

I finally made the mug that I’ve been holding on to for a while and personalize it a little with a little slogan that i love and a little ‘jsdoit’ with three dots underneath to represent the 3 of us and the year my second life started and my sig on the side.

Raps are still battling in the playoffs and we went down to the ACC to stand and cheer them on and I enjoyed watching at home on tape delay after work.  I wear my Del Curry warm-ups for good luck on the couch.

We also hit Snakes and Latte’s in Toronto and this time the Annex location which was so much fun.  This was our second trip to Snakes and we really liked this location better being near Honest Ed’s and so easy to get to off the subway.

We also shot a round of “Honest Answers” in Toronto… so I have to edit that up.  I’m also going backwards and posting in order all the OSE videos that I started filming in May of 2014 to YouTube.  I will break them down into shorter videos and add them to a playlist… so they can all be watch in a row.  You can view the playlist here and I will upload videos to it every other day.

I really wish I started this project in 2012 when I started the second part of my life.  Below is my OSE video:

We hit Snakes & Lattes and we had a blast downtown.  Another thing we like to do is when we see posters in the underground we like to post like the people in the posters.

Below is my video for the period:

I wanted to take the kids to the Home Opener of the Blue Jays but it was nuts to try and get tickets… so we headed back downtown for the Home Opener Weekend and watch them win on Sunday.  The only 3 seats were nosebleeds in right field.  The kids had a blast and the guy trying to start the wave was hilarious.

Next was heading down to Game One of the Toronto Raptors push into the NBA Playoffs at Jurassic Park.  We had a blast and it was nuts downtown with all the Raptors Peeps!  The kids loved being on the big screen and being on TV.

We were all decked out in Jerseys and gear.  Noah work my 2001 player issued D.Dial jersey and it was funny with fans asking if he was a die-hard fan with the seldom used guards jersey.
