Dan Dewey | Dan’s Coffee Run | Starbucks | Cancer

Dan Dewey is my hero.  Truly wonderful how he did this for many years before anyone knew.  He just flew out to LA to be on a talk show that airs on Friday.  Just a couple of weeks ago… someone bought him a car and left it for him.  Val who used to work at Starbucks helped him set up his Facebook Page (which you should like).

Here is the first little video that started it off for him.  Your more than welcome to send some money and buy a round of coffee that happens each week.  He is outside of Detroit.  You can even message him and meet him at Starbucks and help him deliver it to the hospital and hand it out.

Delayed | List3 | #81 of 101 List | Give Blood Twice Per Month For 8 Months

I won’t lie.  This scares me.  I hate needles.  Hate.  I remember when I was in Grade Two and I was in the hospital to take out my tonsils and it took 3 nurses and 1 doctor to hold me down to give me a needle in my leg before surgery.  I’m a big suck.  So I thought about giving blood two times per week for 8 months straight.

So I added it to my 3rd list of 101 Things To Do In 1001 Days!

Update:  Due to my Tattoo… I have to wait 6 months | So my follow up reminder is set for September 2017 to get this one completed.  I’ve signed up and registered on the Canadian Blood Services website.

Make 10 Things | New Cookbook | @keener1111 is a rockstar

Monday, March 3rd, 2014

On Saturday, when I was picking up my kids… my Son brought out a wrapped gift with my name on it.  He told me that his friend from school gave it to him for me.  I was confused.  I stood there and wondered how his friend would do this for me.  Also… what was it?  I opened it right away and could see it was a book.  Again… I’m thinking… why would his friend give me a book?

I then noticed it was a cookbook and I could see the blue sticky that said #59/101 and it hit me.  It was from Christine.  Her Son is my Son’s mate at school and I had the opportunity to hang out with her last fall at the Pumpkin Patch.  She noticed my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days and number #59 was to get a cookbook and make 10 things from it.

Challenge accepted.  I have 10 things to make from this book.

1-20140303-DSC_0086So sweet of her to do this for me and to give me one of her fave cookbooks.  I’m back up in PTBO and I’m looking through it and I’m going to pick out the 10 things.  You seem like a “Pay It Forward” type of person.

Update:  This task was never completed and I feel bad.  I still have the cookbook but one day when I get a kitchen of my own… and I pull this cookbook out of the box… I know I will finish this off.  🙂

#74 Completed | Buy Flowers for someone   Note:  No Blog Post.  Random Act of Kindness to someone from Anonymous sender to brighten their day.

sidewalk_display_pictures_003

One of my things to do was to get flowers for someone just to brighten their day.  I went to a local flower shop and got some flowers to be delivered to someone that hopefully brighten their day.  That’s all it was.  All I knew is they were delivered and that was the end of it.  No idea how they responded.  It had a little note to wish them a great day.

It really was just flowers to someone that I didn’t know.  Update:  I actually bumped into this person and I told them about it.  We laughed since it made her day and she was wondering where they came from.  She said she had a pretty bad week and it brightened up her day.  It was fun to do.
