Hike In The Woods | Winter

I had the opportunity to take the dog for a walk in the countryside along a trail I went on in the fall.  It was nice to see it covered in snow.  The air was still, so it was great to see the dusting of snow fall from the branches as it caught the sunlight peaking through.

Really enjoyed the time in the woods.  I will hike more in 2013.  Can’t wait to get out more this winter in the Rouge Valley and some of the trails north of Durham.

I’m not even on Pinterest.  Here is a look back at the year on my own Pinterest.  The images, the food, the music, the movies and the little moments captured through a crappy camera on the iPod or Android…

I use Tumblr to document some thoughts and images and I mix it in with posts that I like for different reasons to bookmark things in my life as well as what’s going on in the world.  You can find my main Tumblr here.

Below is a summary of my year on Tumblr.

I would recommend watching it in HD.  You can click that at the bottom.  It might make you watch it on vimeo in HD.  That’s cool.  It’s the same video.

Gone Hiking!  See you in 2013!

Santa Likes To Email Me

Every year… Santa emails me two messages for the kids.  When I get them… I show them and they are in awe.  They look quietly and nod their head when he asks them questions.  Here is the video that came in for my son..

He was a little worried to see if he was on the naughty or nice list.  He was lucky this year.

Winter | Darkness | Cold | Quiet | Inside Hiding

a winter

It’s a special time of year… and it’s also a time for new beginnings.  A time that we reflect and look forward into a new year.  It’s also a time to focus on our family, friends as well as ourselves.

We stay in more.  We get scared to go outside in the dark.  We are too chicken of the cold & we tend to live inside in silence without music.

Open your eyes, dress up, get outside, go for a walk, go for a hike, go for a drive.  Turn on the radio.  Download some new songs for a new year and let them play.  Phone a friend.  Go out for coffee.  Shovel some snow.  Buy a $5 gift card from Tim Horton’s and give it to the garbage man, the secretary at school or even a stranger you see walking towards you.

Have a great year!  Kiss your kids.  Tell them you love them.  Phone someone you went to high school with.

Just keep doing!  Just keep going!  Just keep dreaming + trying to better yourself as you move forward.  You can’t go back and change the past… you can just work on today and each day that comes.  Just focus on today.  Make today great!
