Movie | The Kings Of Summer | Watch It Tonight

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

Last night I watched “Kings Of Summer” streamed online.  It’s rated 7.2 on IMDb.  I absolutely loved it.  Highly recommended.  I wanted to score it a 10/10…. but I felt it was a 9/10 using my scale.

The three boys were awesome and Nick Offerman as Joe’s father was so funny.  If you want to stream it online & watch it tonight… you can follow this link.

Three teenage friends, in the ultimate act of independence, decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land.

Movies With Little Miss Sweetness | Movies | Chick Flicks | Why Not

Sunday, December 15th, 2013

I was going through my IMDb Watchlist and I wanted to highlight the movies I want to watch.  I call this set of movies “Movie Night with Little Miss Sweetness”.  I would suggest to anyone that you get your LMS on the couch and pick a movie and watch it with her.  That is never a “bad idea”.  Never.

Here is 30 on my “Watchlist”.  The Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight series… I need to see the last one (Midnight) but why not make it into a back2back2back afternoon and watch all 3 together.

Also… (Yes), I have watched “The Notebook” but I would see that one again.

Open Roof Movie Festival | Toronto | Unique | Summer Goodness

Thursday, July 18th, 2013

Open Roof Festival is a not for profit, outdoor music and film festival providing Toronto with a summer experience like no other, highlighting independent filmmakers and artists from Canada and around the world. The Festival is a fun, unique experience that is more than just a party – its an evening of shared experiences. Of Toronto’s music and film scene. Of refreshments. And, of enjoying Toronto’s beautiful summer night sky with friends.

Follow them on Instagram:

Tonight is Molly Maxwell which is a great little film.  Synopsis: At Phoenix Progressive School, where everyone tries to outdo each other with creative self-expression, 16-year-old Molly Maxwell would rather be invisible than risk revealing herself as completely ordinary. When her young, handsome, disillusioned English teacher enters the picture and allows her to just be herself, Molly is suddenly able to flourish. As their student-teacher bond becomes more intimate, she begins putting herself on the line in unexpected ways while pursuing what she wants. But with each awkward, beautiful step towards an impossible romance, Molly risks alienating everyone she loves.

Not only do you get to watch the movie but there is live music each night there is a film.  Tonight is Bryce Jardine.  Then to fill your belly there is Food by “The Saucy Pierogi” and Kanto by Tita Flips.

So it’s down by the water in Toronto where you get Food (extra cost) and get to hear a live band… then watch a flick.  Tickets are $15 each.

If you can’t make the movie tonight… check out the August 25th Movie called “Kings of Summer” which looks really good…  check out the trailer below:

Check out the Festival online here for all the info and to get tickets.  They move it inside if it rains.

Also is a free outdoor Movie Festival at Christie Pitts in Toronto which is pretty cool for a free little movie in the park on a summer night.  Check that out too!  Something to set yearly reminders to check the website and just pencil in the movies you want to take in.

Movie Bucket List Wednesday | Before Sunset | 2004

Wednesday, July 17th, 2013

This movie came out in 2004.  It is based on the two characters meeting up 9 years after they met that one night in Europe.  Before Sunrise is part one.  It’s rated 8.0 on IMDb and the last part is out in the movies right now.  (Before Midnight) which is incredible.  I just love how Richard Linklater directed this and how it’s shot.  So go out and find it at the library and watch Before Sunrise first… then this one… then go see the 3rd one right now.

Here is the trailer for Before Midnight that is playing now…  I just love how it spans 18 years with the same two people.
